As Novemeber 11th approaches, the Call of Duty: World at War Beta has been released. With the popularity of Call of Duty 4 and how great that game was, everyone is looking forward to the release of this game. So how is the beta for this game? Well for starters this is not made by the same people as COD4, it’s the same people as COD3. Yes that COD, and yes we are back in World War 2 again.
One of the things that I really enjoyed was that they used the COD4 engine for the entire game. So basically all it really is, is World War 2 setting with the COD4 engine. Somehow though it still doesn’t look that great. Maybe it’s me or maybe it’s the setting. One thing they did add was the ability to lose an arm or leg when you get shot, which is really gruesome.
With the World War 2 setting you get the the World War 2 guns which everyone should be familiar with but probably disappointed with because you’d rather have COD4 guns. Another addition is the voice of Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutharland) which I love. Other additions are the new perks, in which a couple are very creative and enchance game play. We also have to rewards for getting kill streaks. For 3 kills u get a Recon Plane, 5 you get Mortar strikes (the kill cam for this looks awesome) and for 7 you get the dogs. Dogs are gruesome and you can kill them as well to gain XP.
Overall the COD:World at War Beta was alright. I’m excited to see what the final game feels like and how the Singler Player is handled. I wasn’t really too impressed, cause really it’s just another WW2 game but this time in Japan and with the COD4 engine. Of course if you would like the see for yourself what I’m talking about and you have a 360 you can use this code: KDWFC-QHXD8-MGFG3-QPC6G-WFDCB. I only have one so first come first serve, sorry.
